Profile picture viewer for Instagram and TikTok

Type a username and see the account’s profile photo as a full square instead of a thumbnail-sized circle. No login, and only the username is sent.

Look up a profile photo

Platform

Shows the public profile photo only. It can’t see private posts, Stories or follower lists. The lookup goes through a data provider and sends nothing but the username (see the privacy policy). Please be respectful with other people’s photos.

How to use it

  1. Choose Instagram or TikTok. The two platforms have separate accounts, even when the username is the same.
  2. Enter the username. That’s the handle after the @, not the bold display name. You can type yourname, @yourname or paste a profile link such as instagram.com/yourname or tiktok.com/@yourname.
  3. Press View. The photo appears as a square, with the username and display name under it so you can confirm it’s the right account.
  4. Open or save it. “Open image” shows the photo on its own in a new tab. “Save image” downloads a copy.

Short share links (vm.tiktok.com and the like) and links to a single post or video point at content, not a profile, so the viewer asks for the profile link or the username instead.

What it can see, and what it can’t

Both Instagram and TikTok show an account’s profile photo publicly, including on private accounts and to people who aren’t logged in. That photo is the only thing this tool fetches. It can’t open private posts, Stories, highlights, liked videos or follower lists, and no tool honestly can without the account owner’s permission. Sites that claim to “view private profiles” are, at best, misleading and, at worst, after your own login.

You don’t log in or hand over anything. When you press View, our server asks a data provider for that account’s public profile details and sends only the username you typed. The photo is passed through our server so it loads reliably; we don’t build a gallery of the pictures people look up.

Why the picture can look soft

In the apps, profile photos are tiny circles. Here you see the whole square at a larger size, which is the point, but the image is exactly what the platform serves, and both platforms store profile photos at fairly modest resolutions. We don’t upscale, sharpen or filter anything, so a large view can look a little soft. If the original upload was blurry, that shows too.

Use it kindly. A profile photo belongs to the person who posted it. Don’t reuse someone’s picture as your own, set up an account in their name, or use it to keep tabs on anyone who doesn’t want contact. If an account is private, respect that choice.

Good reasons to look a photo up

  • Checking you’ve got the right account before you follow, message, tag or pay someone, when several accounts have near-identical names.
  • Spotting impersonators that copy a brand’s logo or a creator’s photo. A side-by-side look at the full images makes a copycat easier to see.
  • Testing your own photo. Look up your own username to see the full image, then check it still reads when cropped to a small circle.
  • Keeping a copy of your current photo before you change it, if the original file is long gone from your phone.
  • Matching a brand across platforms. Look up your Instagram and TikTok accounts one after the other to check the logo and crop are consistent.

A profile photo that works at thumbnail size

Most people meet your photo at the size of a fingernail: next to a comment, above a Reel, in a list of suggested accounts or beside a TikTok video. Keep it simple. One clear subject, centered, with a plain or contrasting background and nothing important near the corners, because the circle crops them off. For a business, a bold logo or wordmark usually beats a photo of the storefront. For a person, a close crop of the face beats a full-length shot. Use the same photo on Instagram and TikTok if you want people to recognize you when they cross over.

Once the photo is right, the bio under it matters next. The bio generator drafts one sized for each platform.

Photo sorted. The count sits right beside it.

500 followers, $9.99

Visitors take in your photo and your follower count together before anything else. If it’s the count that makes a finished profile look abandoned, 500 Instagram followers or 500 TikTok followers start within minutes of payment and usually finish the same day. It changes the number only, not the likes, comments or reach your posts get.

Questions, answered

About the viewer

Can I see the profile picture of a private account?
Yes, because the profile photo is public even on private Instagram and TikTok accounts. Nothing else on a private account is visible here.
Will the person know I looked at their photo?
The lookup is made by our server through a data provider, not from your account, so it doesn’t appear in their notifications or anywhere in the app.
Why does the full-size image look blurry?
You’re seeing the image at the resolution the platform stores it, which is fairly small. We don’t sharpen or upscale it, so a blurry original stays blurry.
Why does it say the account wasn’t found?
Check that you picked the right platform and typed the handle rather than the display name. Very new accounts, renamed accounts and banned accounts may also not turn up.
Can I paste a TikTok share link?
Paste the profile link (tiktok.com/@name) or just the username. Short vm.tiktok.com links usually point to a video rather than a profile, so the viewer asks for the username instead.
Do you keep the pictures people look up?
No. Lookups are cached briefly so repeat requests load faster, and only the username is sent to the data provider. The privacy policy has the details.
